How we give even more to charity

The driving force behind the GEM is our commitment to making a real difference in people's lives by giving back to our community and those in need.

By joining the GEM, you'll play a huge part in helping transform the lives of so many Australians through our initiatives and commitment to our incredible charity partners; TLC for Kids and Love Me Love You.

Each charity goes above and beyond to give back to those they're trying to support. Tim Conolan, Founder of TLC for Kids and Lance Picioane, CEO of Love Me Love You, have shown incredible faith and support for the GEM. We are incredibly grateful to be working with these charities and are delighted to have them as our partners, and we look forward to being of great benefit to all three charities over the years.

Prior to GEM’s launch we donated over $20,000.00 to our charity partners to showcase our commitment to them, which is only the beginning of what we will contribute. Every month, you will see us making financial donations and volunteering to support our charity partners, so we can contribute first-hand to changing the lives of Australians in need.

We have set the ambitious goal of donating more than $1 million to charity in the next twelve months (see graph below).
We look forward to keeping you updated on all the initiatives we roll out so you can see the impact your charitable donations have on the lives of others.

Finally, we have also set up our own initiative for families in need. Whether you or somebody close to you has been struck by hardship or illness and needs a helping hand, contact us directly at support@thegem.com, and we will see how we can help you.

Please see the links below if you want to get involved directly with one of the charities we support by making an additional donation or volunteering.

Both Christian and Rob want the GEM's charity contributions and giving back to the community to be the focus of the GEM, which is why they have committed to a minimum monthly donation to the charities, regardless of the number of members. This commitment provides certainty to TLC for Kids and Love Me Love which allows them to focus on what they do best, helping those in need.

The more members the GEM has, the more donations we can make on their behalf.

TLC for Kids

TLC for Kids provides relief to sick and terminally ill children and their families Australia-wide by providing practical and emotional comfort both in and out of hospital care. The support they provide to sick children and their families is unconditional and requires significant financial backing. We are honoured to be able to contribute to this and support the charity so they can continue their incredible service to the community.

Tim Conolan, the founder of TLC for Kids, is delighted to be an official charity partner. "Providing care for Australia's most vulnerable children is at the core of what we do. With the support from the GEM, we can continually provide more care for sick children and their families."

Love Me Love You

Love Me Love You provide interactive and engaging programs that challenge the views and stigma surrounding mental health within Australia.

A former first-round draft pick and AFL footballer, Lance Picioane established Love Me Love You in 2013, having earlier been diagnosed with depression and anxiety as a young man.

Now living a life full of love and happiness, Love Me Love You programs are based on Lance’s experiences and aim to educate and empower our community about the importance of mental health and well-being.

Empower

The essence of our organisation is summed up in its name — Empower. Our primary purpose is to serve and support vulnerable individuals within our community, to empower them to become productive contributors to society and to reach their fullest potential.

We operate under three key mandates: To provide food relief, to support communities, and to empower the next generation.

Empower Australia's programs are focused on the value of community wraparound and the family unit, emphasising team-based care and collaboration.
